Welcome to our archives page! Here you can find all of the sources that we used for this project from the oral histories that we conducted to weave stories of events in our campus’ history to specific letters from the President’s desk itself! Take a dive into our archives and see what you can find!

Photos

Most of the photos that we gathered for this project are from the University of Mary Washington Centennial Image Collection. Take a look to see lots of pictures about how campus has changed over time.

Oral Histories

These are our oral histories! Taking inspiration from Dr. Crawley’s Centennial History, we conducted interviews and collected stories from members of UMW’s community, past and present.

Maps

Take a look at how campus has evolved since its inception in 1908 through these historic maps of campus.

Articles

Here are the articles that we used to build our stories! Most of these are from the Mary Washington College newspaper, The Bullet, but there is also one from the Simpson Library News & Views publication! Take a look!

Miscellaneous

These are all of the sources that can’t find a home in the previous categories. Take a look for the letter from President Anderson limiting frisbee players to certain sections of campus or see the results of the 10th Annual Virginia States tournament in the 1986 issue of Flying Disc Illustrated!
